Getting to know Janis Grout

Janis is a 23-year veteran of broadcast journalism who turned to real estate in 2001. A native of British Columbia, she moved to Central Oregon in 1976.

Janis started the news department at Bend’s KTVZ-TV in 1977 and worked at three major TV stations in Oregon and Washington before returning to Bend, where she has lived for over 40 years.

While she has detailed knowledge of the real estate market throughout Central Oregon, Janis’ special knack is connecting buyers and sellers in the high-end residential market. She was a member of the original Garner Group team and moved her license to the new company when it became an independent agency in 2008.

Randy Grout, Janis’ husband, is a home builder and member of the NorthWest Crossing Builders’ Guild. Janis and Randy have two adult daughters. Ingrid and her family reside in England. Olivia and her husband reside in Big Sky Montana.
